Workspaces
Learn how Workspaces on Ideavo organize your projects, teammates, settings, and billing in one central space.
What is a Workspace?
A Workspace is the central place where you manage and organize your work in Ideavo. Every project belongs to a workspace, and all collaboration, settings, and credits are managed from there.
When you sign up for Ideavo, a default workspace is created automatically with 5 free credits. This workspace acts as your primary workspace and is included with the free plan.
Inside a workspace, you can:
- Create and manage projects
- Organize your work
- Manage workspace-level credits
- Configure workspace settings
- Collaborate with others
All credits in Ideavo are managed at the workspace level, meaning credits belong to the workspace rather than individual projects.

Limits
Users on the free plan can have up to 2 workspaces at a time. To create additional workspaces, you must upgrade to the Pro plan in your default workspace.
Default Workspace
Every user always has a default workspace, which is created automatically during signup and cannot be removed. Only the default workspace receives 5 free credits each month — any additional workspaces start with zero credits and no plan.
What Belongs to a Workspace
The following settings are currently tied to your user account but will move to the workspace level:
| Feature | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| MCP Servers — User level | User | Workspace |
| MCP Servers — Project level | Project | Project |
| LLM Providers (BYOK) | User | Workspace |
| Sandbox | User | Workspace |
| Crypto Wallet | User | Workspace |
| Integrations (GitHub, Vercel, Railway) | User | Workspace |
| Folders, Projects | User | Workspace |
| Top-ups | User | Workspace |
| Plan / Subscription | User | Workspace |
Existing User Migration — If you already have an Ideavo account without a workspace, you will be automatically migrated to a default workspace. All your existing projects, folders, and credits will be moved into that workspace automatically.
Roles & Permissions
Workspace owners and admins can manage workspace members, billing, and settings.
Workspace Roles
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control over the workspace. Created automatically as the workspace creator. Can manage billing, members, and all settings. |
| Admin | Can manage members, credits, and workspace settings. Cannot delete the workspace, transfer ownership, or invite other admins. |
| Editor | Can create and edit projects within the workspace. Cannot manage members or billing. |
| Viewer | Read-only access to projects within the workspace. |
- Only the owner can delete a workspace. Default workspaces cannot be deleted.
- Admins can manage members and rename the workspace, but only the owner can invite users with the Admin role.
- Each workspace has exactly one owner. Ownership is non-transferable.
Inviting Members
Workspace owners and admins can invite users to the workspace by email with an assigned role. Invited users receive an email invitation and join the workspace upon accepting.
Project-Level Access
Each project within a workspace can also be individually shared with collaborators outside the workspace. See Collaboration for details.
Workspace roles always take precedence over project-level roles.
